We know that we cannot have a successful campaign without the generous businesses in our community. Many of these businesses have stepped up and shown that they are Menasha Strong with us! Their support of our students and families has touched us in many ways. In turn, we want to show our gratitude and appreciation by sharing with the community who some of these major donors are –and what makes them such fantastic community partners! Thank you to all our donors!
Miron Construction Co., Inc. is one of the campaign's lead donors with an extremely generous pledge of $250,000.
Miron Construction Co., Inc. is one of the nation’s premier construction firms, is recognized as an industry leader, and has been in existence for nearly 100 years. While Miron puts more work in place in the state of Wisconsin than any other contractor (based on Midwest revenues) according to ENR Midwest’s 2016 “Top Contractors” list, it also provides innovative pre-construction, construction management, design-build, industrial, and general construction services nationwide. The forward-thinking, fast-growing private company is headquartered in Neenah, with regional offices in Madison, Wausau, Milwaukee, and Eau Claire, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ranked by Engineering News Record (ENR) as 104th among the “Top 400 Contractors in the United States” (based on 2015 revenue of $689 million), Miron is also the Official Provider of Construction Services for the Green Bay Packers and Lambeau Field. What is the company’s connection to the Menasha Joint School District?
One of our owners, Tim Kippenhan, vice president and COO of Miron, is a graduate of Menasha High School, and with our corporate headquarters located in Neenah-Menasha, many of our employees are past graduates or currently live in the district and have children who attend. In fact, the Kippenhan family, as well as the Voss family (David G. Voss, Jr. is co-owner of Miron and serves as president & CEO) grew up in Menasha and have strong ties, and a shared passion for giving back, to the Menasha community. Miron has also worked on multiple projects for the Menasha Joint School District and we even had a few students, who were currently attending the high school, assist our construction crews on the most recent project we completed at their school.
What compelled the company to contribute such a generous amount to Menasha Strong?
Our owners are both big believers in giving back to the communities in which our employees live and work. Menasha Joint School District has also been a valued partner to our organization over the years, providing multiple opportunities for our teams to complete work at their schools and we certainly wanted to say “thank you” for their continued friendship and support. The educational market is also one of our strongest markets; not only are we bringing dreams to life, but we’re constructing innovative learning environments for school districts each and every day.
What’s the greatest thing about a community like Menasha?
The Menasha community is certainly a tight-knit one, one in which many individuals who grew up in the area, stay in the area. Hometown values and strong family values are a common thread among community members who also hold a strong belief in providing students with a well-rounded education, from both an academic and extra-curricular standpoint.
Anything else we should know about Miron?
Miron is renowned for its community-minded endeavors in the many locations where we operate our business. We are proud to play an active role in our communities by contributing to projects that make them wonderful places in which to live, work, and play. We encourage all of our employees to get involved in their communities, assist their neighbors in need, and better the world in which they live. Each year, Miron contributes financially to non-profit organizations and offers in-kind support on community projects. Miron has benefited from the growth of the area and truly understands the importance of giving back to those who have contributed to our success.
Over the past 10 years, Miron has donated more than $9 million to community organizations, events and projects.
MENASHA STRONG is a $3.5 million private fundraising effort to address pressing needs for Menasha High School: repairing and renovating Nathan Calder Stadium, installing turf at Bayer Field and purchasing new uniforms for the Bluejay Brigade Marching Band. The campaign is an effort from the Menasha Joint School District and its friends and supporters.
